In recent months, Kat has emerged as one of the defining faces of pop’s next generation. Nominated for a Latin Billboard Award, Kat’s unique musical training laid the groundwork for her remarkably wide-ranging sound.

As a child, Kat trained as an opera singer and developed a remarkable appreciation for a range of musical influences.

At age 15, she entered a karaoke competition and her version of Whitney Houston’s classic I Will Always Love You secured her first place. It was through this competition that she met legendary Cuban salsa singer Rey Ruiz, who gave her a piece of advice that she values even today.

“He told me, ‘nobody knows you better than you do, and no one can help you if you can’t help yourself’,” said Kat.
Today, her sound is a colourful blend of hip hop, R&B, meringue, pop, Latin jazz, electronic, and dance. The bilingual songstress does it all.
